Repentance (Romans 3:23)-9/22/2024

Romans 3:23 (KJV) reads, " For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." I don't care if it's the pastor, the deacon, the doctor, the lawyer, or me we all sin and fall. If you don't get anything from this piece of scripture it should be to pray for everybody that crosses your path. In the supernatural/spiritual realm there is no respecter of person. Social status does not save you. Money does not save you. Your profession does not save you. The one thing that determines your spiritual walk is the deeds of your heart.

Repentance by definition means to turn away. Turn away from lying. Turn away from stealing. Turn away from lust. Turn away from gossip. Turn away from pride. We must keep in mind that Christ is coming back for a church that is without spot or blemish.

Believers of all walks of life still have incomplete work that he/she hasn't worked on. Temptations of the flesh. Lust of the eyes. Plagues of the heart. The prince of the air rules our world. It's the ongoing war between the flesh and the spirit that will continue until the second coming of Christ.

Learning from our past failures shows us what to do and what not to do. It's like training for a boxing match. During training the fighter must look at footage from their previous matches. When the fighter looks at his/her footage all the pros and cons are revealed. The fighter writes it all down in a notebook and gets into the gym to work on stamina, speed, strength, and footwork. The same thing applies to us as members of the body of Christ. Tracing back to what triggers us and knowing where those triggers come from is a necessity.

We must not look down or talk down on anyone. I don't care who it is. The incarcerated. The prostitute. The drug dealer. The pimp. Even our peers and associates. These people have souls just like us.

My plead to this generation is to check on your own affairs before judging the salvation of others. Let us not scorn each other with doctrines of men, but with the love that Christ has shown us. Meet people where they are and not by your perception of them. Ignore scoffers and naysayers along with their attacks against the God we serve. In everything you do make sure it matches with what is in the Word of God. Ask God to separate you so you can stand out for the sake of His kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
