Titus 2:13 (KJV) reads, "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." In a world full of false hopes and dishonesty the only one who can supply our needs is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Trusting in man will only leave us heartbroken. Some of us have learned this the hard way. Moments such as these is what makes us run into Christ's arms. Tucked in the deepest part of our souls the heartbreaks remind us to stay faithful no matter what is being presented to us.
Every president, prime minister, governor, mayor, council member, assembly member, and schoolboard member are nothing more than pawns and puppets. These public figures make decisions on behave of big players and move when the hidden hand tells them to. The problem with us is that we get caught up with the titles and positions of individuals that we forget that they are no different than me and you. Men and women of high prestige are still human. History reminds us that man will fail us over and over. As believers we have an advantage and that is a connection with The Heavenly Father through His Son Jesus Christ.
Music, movies, TV shows, and content creators have been used to sooth us to sleep and help us turn a blind eye to what is really going on. I personally do not mind a little entertainment every now and again, but not too much. Between comedy specials and documentaries that is all that I watch. My faith has been brought to the forefront these days and I have been asking God to purify my heart. Because of this I have been cautious with what I allow to touch the beam of my eyes. We don't have to change every aspect of ourselves to be in Christ. All we have to do is ask God to purge whatever is in us that does not please Him and He will bring forth the work we need to do within ourselves.
How we response to social, local, and political issues counts. Whether it is abortion, same-sex marriage, the border crisis, homelessness, or public housing we must use the Word of God as our primary source. We have to be the one's influencing the culture, not the culture influencing us. Whenever we enter rooms, the atmosphere must change. Witches and warlocks that cross our paths should shiver with fear and trembling. Encounters with non-believers should give them the opportunity to convert. Your office can be a prophet/prophetess or a Seer/Watchmen, the work may be a handful at times, but we must stay diligent.
Clearing our minds of all fears, doubts, and lies is a necessary step in order for us to stay on our toes. Purifying our goals and motives keeps us humble and focused on the assignments that God has placed on us. Boldness is how we go on about what The Lord our God has done for us. Elegant words seasoned with salt is how we are to proclaim The Gospel with others. Dress codes or physical appearance should never be our main concern, but the love of God's laws and commandments that are placed on the templates of our hearts. Sweat, tears, and sacrifices will all be worth it when we finally stand before The Lord.
The sky may turn red. The waters may become troubled. The crops may dry up. Friends may come and go. Family may disown you. Going through these possible scenarios the one thing we must do is have hope. Place hope in the gifts and talents God has given us. Place hope in the miracles, signs, and wonders that God will display in this generation. Place hope in the New Jerusalem that will come down from Heaven. Place hope in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.
