Assignments (Genesis 12:1,1 Kings 13)-9/14/2024

Six doorknobs, six doorposts, four windows, four cabinets, one fireplace, and one headboard. The list I just gave you is more than nouns. Architectural hardware is as part of a house than the roof and the driveway. In less than 24 hours I have completed a God-given assignment to anoint cabin 12. Anointing one's home, oneself, or possessions is a necessity. Not only does it protect and cover you, but it also helps you build a connection between you and God.

Merriam-Webster defines an Assignment as a specified task or amount of work assigned or undertaken as if assigned by authority. The Bible is filled with examples of God giving assignments to His people. Whether it's Abraham (Genesis 12:1) or the prophet from Judah (1 Kings 13) God gives assignments to men and women of all walks of life. This should give us hope and motivate us to obey God's assignments on our lives. In this hour it is important to listen to God's voice. Every day I pray to The Father that He keeps His hand over my life.

Your life can be full of illness and disease. Your life can be full of pain and suffering. Your life can be full of doubt and confusion. Despite how our lives look like here on earth God still has an assignment for each and every one of us. He knows our beginning and He knows our end. The only thing that matters is the fact that we lived every day, every month, every year, every minute, and every second for Christ. The reward that we shall receive in the next life will be worth more than anything this world will have to offer.

The Lord has been giving me assignments that may seem small but have made major differences. First, I was assigned to replace the news with prayer. Second, I was assigned to spend less time on social media. Third and last, I was assigned to sit back and let The Lord fight my battles on my behalf. It has been these three things that has helped shape and mold me into the servant of God I am today. Whoever is going through an isolation season in God, I encourage you to make the best of it because you never know what changes you will go through in the process.

For those of you that do not know the assignment that God has given you I encourage you to get on your knees and ask God for yourself. Please don't get hooked to the words that I write or the videos of me breaking down scripture. I am only a man that has his own list of shortcomings. Pointing you to Christ is my only assignment that has been placed on me. Still being young in Christ I admit that I have a lot to learn.

A waterfall can be heard outside of my bedroom window. Water represents life and new beginnings. The world in its fallen state still has hope. The streams of water help slow down the time. In my mind times of innocence come and go in flashes. I close my eyes just for a moment. Opening my eyes the flashes stop, and I am off to bed.
